Above, is our first film poster draft. This only contained production companies, our title and the credits block. After receiving feedback from my teachers and colleges I then took the poster home to finish it off. However, this raised a problem because I do not have Adobe Photoshop at home. I have a software called GIMP, which is similar. I find Photoshop easier to use because I have been working with it longer, therefore I find it easier to work on the poster on a college computer. On the other hand, I have more time to do it at home. The two formats of Photoshop and GIMP seem to clash because when I finished working on the poster at home, after adding actor names, resizing and repositioning of the title, the credits block had seemed to disappear from my second draft when I attempted to continue on with it at college. The second draft is seen below. So I made the decision to carry on and add the ratings and critic feedback to the poster in Photoshop because I found it quicker and easier to do compared to using GIMP. I will add the credits block again at home and finalize the poster.
Once I had taken the poster home, I was able to restore the credits block, change 'Josh Hodge' to John Hodge and put our production logo in the bottom right hand corner. Latest poster draft seen below.
In this latest draft, I personally feel the poster is now too crowded so I may need to take some items out. However, I first need feedback from my colleges and maybe some friend to see what they think.
conventionally, we noticed the credit block was more central in the poster.
